What is the NTA JEE Main Session 1 Score?
The NTA Score is a standardised score used to compare students who took the exam in different shifts.
Exams are often held in multiple shifts, and difficulty can vary between shifts. The NTA Score accounts for this by normalising scores.
Scores are converted into a scale from 0 to 100 for each shift, based on how a candidate performed relative to others in the same shift.
Important: The NTA Score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.
How the NTA JEE Main Session 1 Score is calculated:
Marks obtained in the exam are collected. A statistical method is applied to adjust for differences in difficulty between shifts.
The adjusted score is transformed to a 0–100 scale, giving the candidate’s NTA Score.
In short: NTA Score = a normalized score that fairly compares all candidates, even if they appeared in different exam shifts.
The NTA JEE Score of a Candidate has been calculated as follows:
100 x Number of candidates appeared in the 'Shift' with raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the score of the candidate in the Shift ÷ Total number of candidates who appeared in the 'Shift’.
