The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a notice announcing the release of provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 Paper 2. JEE Main Paper 2 Provisional Answer Key and Response Sheet Released
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key along with the question papers and recorded responses for JEE Main 2026 Session 1, Paper 2A (B. Arch) and 2B (B. Planning) on the official website.
This means that candidates can now:
- View the official provisional answers.
- Check their own responses.
- Estimate their scores.
For many engineering aspirants like you, this is the first chance to analyse your performance in detail.
Objection Window Open for Candidates
NTA has opened the challenge window for candidates who wish to raise objections to the provisional answer key.
Important points that you should remember while challenging the answer key:
- Challenges must be submitted through online mode only.
- Each objection requires payment of the prescribed fee.
- Only valid, evidence-based challenges will be considered.
Duration of Answer Key Challenge Window And Fee Payment
The challenge window will be open from 19 February, 2026 to 20 February, 2026 (up to 11:50 p.m.) for both the papers. You can raise the challenge only through online mode by paying ₹200 per challenge.
You must pay the fee only through Debit or Credit Card or via Net banking. The payment receipt is mandatory to raise any challenge.
Note: The fee once paid to raise a challenge is non-refundable and will be only accepted through the above mentioned modes.
What Happens After You Raise a Challenge?
The procedure for reviewing the challenge is as follows:
- Your challenge will be reviewed by a subject expert.
- After review, if your challenge is found to be correct, the answer key released will be revised.
- The revised answer key will be applicable for all candidates who had appeared for JEE Main 2026 Paper 2.
- Once the review process is completed, NTA will publish the final answer key, which will be considered binding to all.
Note: You will not be informed about acceptance or rejection of your raised challenge.
Procedure That You Must Follow to Challenge the Answer Key for JEE Main Session, Paper 2
You must follow the following steps in order to challenge the provisional answer key released by NTA:
1. Visit the official JEE-main website.
2. You must login with your application number and password, and enter the Captcha Code before submitting.
3. Next, click on ‘Challenge/s regarding Answer Key’.
You will see the questions IDs in the following order:

| Paper 2B (B. Planning) | 25 + 50 + 25 | Mathematics/ Aptitude Test/ Planning based MCQs |
4. The ID next to the question, under the column named ‘Correct Option’ stands for the correct answer by NTA.
5. If you wish to challenge this option, you may use any one or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box.
6. You many upload supporting documents clicking ‘Chooses File and Upload’. You must upload all the documents in a single PDF file.
7. All the option IDs you have challenged will be displayed on your screen.
8. Next you have to click on ‘Save your Claim and Pay Fee’.
9. Lastly, you have to select the mode of payment and pay the fee for each challenge. (₹ 200 per challenge).
