The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell is offering colleges and institutions an opportunity to play a key role in the 2025–26 admissions process for technical education courses in Maharashtra. By registering as a Scrutiny centre (SC), your institution will assist in document verification and other admission processes.
In this blog, you will find how to register your college and the role you will be playing as a Scrutiny centre (SC) in supporting admissions to technical education courses.
Note: It is mandatory for Government, Government-Aided, and Vidyapeeth colleges to register for this process.
What are Maharashtra CET Scrutiny Centres (SCs) 2025–26?
Scrutiny Centres (SCs) are appointed by the Technical Education Department of the State Common Entrance Examination Board to assist students and parents during the admission process.
Note: Scrutiny Centres should not charge candidates for any of the services.
Role of Scrutiny Centres in Maharashtra CET Admission Processes 2025–26
Once selected, the primary role of the Scrutiny Centres is to assist with the following various steps of the admission process.
1. Registration and Submission of Online Application Form
- Help candidates register and submit the online application form. Scan and upload all necessary documents as part of the verification process.
- Print one copy of the submitted application form for the candidate.
Note: It is not mandatory for the candidate to report to SC for this activity.
2. Document Verification
- Candidates will present a printed copy of their completed online application form and a set of uploaded documents. The Scrutiny Centre will verify these documents, stamp them with the SC's official seal and date, and return the set to the candidate along with a receipt-cum-acknowledgment for the confirmed application form.
- An SC also has to address any grievances raised by candidates during the admission process.
Note: It is mandatory for the candidate to report to the SC for this activity.
3. Online Option Form Submission for CAP Rounds
- SCs will help candidates fill out their online option forms for CAP Rounds I, II, and III or additional (if any).
- The SC should not influence candidates to select specific preferences while filling out the option form.
Note: It is not mandatory for the candidate to use the scrutiny of SC for this activity.

Key Guidelines for Maharashtra CET Scrutiny Centres
To ensure that the process runs smoothly, there are certain rules and guidelines that all Scrutiny Centres must follow:
- All Scrutiny Centres (SCs) must create a username and password by entering the DTE code and password on the respective admission portal.
- SCs must certify, with the coordinator's stamp and signature, that ‘All original documents have been verified.’
- SCs should carefully scrutinise and verify documents to ensure accuracy. Any errors or negligence will be taken seriously. If a candidate suffers due to negligence or non-attendance by SC staff, responsibility for the admission will fall on the individual involved, and appropriate action will be taken.
- SCs found engaging in unlawful activities, such as misguiding candidates, failing to cooperate, or collecting and keeping original documents, will face severe consequences, including non-payment of honorarium, legal action, and/or disqualification from future SC activities.
