The State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra has just released an important notice dated 09 May, 2025 regarding the Caste Validity Certificate (CVC) for admissions to your respective colleges.
Deadline for SEBC/OBC Caste Validity Certificate Submission
The government has opened a window of three months from May, 2025, for submission of the Caste Validity Certificate. That means the last date to submit your Caste Validity Certificate to your college is 01 August, 2025.
- If you're one of the students who already has their original Caste Validity Certificate in hand, great! Your next step is to submit the document to your college without any delay.
- If you have not received this certificate from the District Verification Committee, you must obtain it at the earliest. Once you have it, submit it to the college before the specified deadline.
- If you have submitted the certificate to the college, but not uploaded it on the CAP portal, it still needs to be uploaded. You must upload it through your own login credentials on the portal.
- The notice clearly states that if you fail to submit your Caste Validity Certificate within the given time frame, your admission could be cancelled.

The notice by the CET Cell also has some important instructions for the colleges. They need to:
- Collect the original Caste Validity Certificates from all SEBC and OBC students admitted based on the certificate receipt.
