As reported by The Times of India, the Supreme Court of India has ordered that the NEET-PG 2025 examination be conducted in a single shift across the country. The decision was taken to ensure uniformity in the examination process.
The ruling came in response to a petition that raised concerns over the previously planned two-shift format. The petition pointed out that differences in difficulty levels across multiple shifts could potentially affect candidates’ performance and outcomes.
Supreme Court's Observation
The bench noted that for a national-level examination like NEET-PG, it is important to maintain consistency in testing conditions. According to the Court, uniformity in the exam pattern is essential to avoid any sense of discrepancy or imbalance among candidates.
The Court also acknowledged that NEET-PG has traditionally been held in a single shift, and the same should continue for the upcoming examination.
NEET-PG 2025 Exam Schedule
- Exam Date: June 15, 2025
- Mode: Single shift across all centres
- Conducting Body: National Board of Examinations (NBE)
Following the Supreme Court’s order, the NBE will revise its logistical arrangements to accommodate all candidates in a single shift. This may include securing larger venues, deploying more staff, and coordinating operations at the national level.
