Then you need to note down these latest guidelines issued by the CBSE.
The CBSE Board issued a set of guidelines for private students of CBSE Class 12 in their circular dated 10 January, 2025. These guidelines contain important details like eligibility, date, venue of the exam, and actionable points for students, examiners, and regional offices.
First, we shall examine which private CBSE students are the eligible for this practical exam.
Eligible Categories of Class 12 Private Students
- If you are a 2024 CBSE Private Student and your practical subject marks are not available due to Repeat in Practical, Repeat in Theory and Practical both, or were Absent.
- If you are a 2023 CBSE Private Student and your practical subject marks are not available due to Repeat in Practical, Repeat in Theory and Practical both, or were Absent.
- If you are a Private Student of 2022 and before, who have applied in full subjects in the private category in their respective practical subjects.
For subjects without practical components, no project or internal assessment will be conducted. Instead, the marks for project/internal assessment will be calculated pro-rata based on the marks obtained in the theory exam in the 2025 examination.
Now, let’s take a look at some details of the practical exam.
Examination Date and Venue
- The practical exams will be conducted from 15 February, 2025 (Saturday) to 15 March, 2025 (Saturday).
- They will take place at the same centres allotted for theory exams.
Answer Books and Uploading of Marks
- The Regional Offices will supply the Practical Answer Books for the practical exam. Examiners must ensure there are correct and complete entries in the books.
- On the day of the practical exam, marks will be uploaded to the CBSE website after Internal and External Examiner verification.
Instructions for Students
- You must carry a copy of the previous Result/Mark sheet and Admit Card of the 2025 exam.
- You must be punctual and arrive on time for the exam.
Instructions for Appointment of External Examiner
- External Examiners will be appointed by the Regional Directors/Officers.
- Internal Examiners from the school's faculty will be appointed by the Centre Superintendent.
- If teachers are unavailable at the centre for appointment as Internal Examiners, teachers from nearby schools will be appointed.
Instructions for Examination Centres and Regional Offices
- The Centre Superintendent must prepare a class-wise and subject-wise list of students whose practical exams are to be conducted.
- The Centre Superintendent shall co-ordinate with the Regional Offices for appointment of External Examiners.
- The Centre Superintendent shall not appoint External Examiners on their own.
- The Regional Offices shall be informed about the plan of conduct of the practical examination.
