In an important update for students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools in the Middle East, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the postponement of select Board examinations scheduled for 2 March, 2026.
The decision comes in view of the current situation in parts of the region. Here’s everything students and parents need to know.
CBSE Board Exams 2026 Postponed in Middle East: What Has Been Announced?
As per the official notice issued by Central Board of Secondary Education:
- Examinations scheduled for Monday, 02 March, 2026, for both Class 10 and Class 12 are postponed.
- Fresh dates for these exams will be announced later.
- The Board will review the situation on Tuesday, 03 March, 2026.
- Based on the review, decisions will be taken regarding examinations scheduled from 05 March, 2026 onwards.
This update applies only to CBSE schools in the following Middle Eastern countries:
- Bahrain
- Iran
- Kuwait
- Oman
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates (UAE)
At this stage, the notice does not indicate cancellation, only postponement.
Board examinations in India and other regions continue as per schedule unless otherwise notified.

- Stay in regular contact with your school administration.
- Continue preparation without pause.
- Monitor official announcements from CBSE.
