Why This Advisory Was Released By NCERT
With the advent of the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) undertook he development of new textbooks for across various subjects. This was done in order to align the curriculum with the National Curriculum Framework of School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.
Overview of the New NCERT Textbooks for Class 01 to 11
- The new NCERT textbooks for Class 01 to 08 have been successfully developed and are available for CBSE students and teachers in both print and digital forms.
- The new textbooks for Class 09 are under development and will be made available from the academic session 2026–27. The draft for Class 09 textbook is made available on the official NCERT website for reference and feedback.
- NCERT has announced that the new textbooks for Class 10 and Class 11 will be introduced from the academic year 2027–28 onwards. Keeping this in view, the existing textbooks shall continue for the academic year 2026–27.
Note: Teachers are advised by NCERT that the prerequisite learning for all students must be adequately addressed before initiating the new syllabus and textbooks.
