The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an assessment scheme, outlining how evaluation will be done in special circumstances where examinations were not conducted normally. This update is important for CBSE Class 10 students, teachers, and school principals, as it explains how marks will be calculated using available academic records when required.

Why CBSE Introduced This Assessment Scheme

CBSE had cancelled the Class 10 Board examinations in the Middle East Regions (Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE) after reviewing the prevailing situations in these regions.

Class 10 Board Examinations scheduled from 17 February, 2026 to 28 February, 2026 were conducted successfully in the Middle East Regions. A total of 42 examinations were conducted including 06 academic subjects, 16 languages, and 22 skill-based exams.

Cases Based on the Conduct of Class 10 Board Examinations 2026 in Middle East Regions

  1. Students appeared in all examinations.
  2. Students appeared in 4 examinations.
  3. Students appeared in 3 examinations.
  4. Students appeared in 2 examinations.
  5. Private students registered under compartment category.

CBSE Class 10 Board Exam Assessment Scheme 2026 for Middle East Regions

  1. If you appeared in all the examinations the result would be declared based on your performance in the examinations.
  2. If you appeared in 4 examinations the result will be declared based on the average marks you obtained in the best 3 performing subjects, for the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.
  3. If you appeared in 3 examinations the result will be declared based on the average marks you obtained in the best 2 performing subjects for the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.
  4. If you appeared only in 2 examinations their results will be declared based on the average of the marks of 2 subjects for the remaining examinations.
  5. If you had registered in 2025 or earlier with only up to two subjects, you will also be accommodated under the scheme. If you appeared in one or both of the registered examinations, your result will be declared based on your actual performance in those papers. However, if any of your registered examinations wasn’t conducted, you will not lose the chance. CBSE has clarified that you will be given an opportunity to appear in the Second Board examination, so that you can complete your subjects and obtain their result without any disadvantage.
  6. If you changed your examination centre to other country your results will be declared based on your performance.

Important Instructions Announced By CBSE Regarding The Assessment Scheme

  1. Results for the Middle East Students will be declared along with rest of the CBSE Board students.
  2. You will be allowed to improve your performance in the Second Board Examination.
  3. CBSE will be taking any action as required at the time of preparation of the results.
  4. For internal assessment, the results will be taken as uploaded by the schools.
  5. Results prepared with the assessment scheme will be final and no special examination will be conducted in any circumstances.
