In a significant move toward strengthening practical learning in schools, CBSE will be organising one-day capacity-building programmes for teachers to support the mandatory implementation of Skill Education in Classes 6–8, starting 4 February, 2026.
The initiative is being led by CBSE’s Skill Education Division and is designed to equip school leaders and teachers with practical strategies to integrate skill-based learning into everyday classroom teaching.
CBSE has emphasised that Skill Education is not a supplementary add-on but a core component of quality middle school education. Through these focused workshops, the Board seeks to make skill-based learning a meaningful and integral part of everyday classroom practice.
Skill Education Capacity-Building Workshops Hosted Across Multiple Cities
The month-long CBSE Skill Education Capacity-Building programme will run throughout February at selected CBSE-affiliated schools that will serve as host institutions.
These workshops will be conducted in several cities, including Faridabad, New Delhi, Noida, Ranchi, Ghaziabad, Bengaluru, and other locations across the country.
By decentralising the training, CBSE is ensuring wider accessibility and participation for educators from different regions.
Each session will follow an activity-based format and run from 9:00 a.m.to 5:30 p.m.
Teachers, vice-principals, and principals will actively participate in hands-on training focused on real classroom applications. A key component of the programme is the effective use of NCERT Kaushal Bodh textbooks to promote experiential learning and interdisciplinary skill development among students.
Focus on Creating Master Trainers
- One of the main goals of the initiative is to develop educators into master trainers who can extend Skill Education practices within their own schools and communities.
- By building internal expertise, CBSE aims to create a ripple effect that strengthens implementation at the grassroots level.
- While the workshops are free of cost, participants are required to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
- Schools are encouraged to coordinate in advance with host institutions regarding participant requirements to ensure smooth seat allocation, access to materials, and efficient event management.
Final Takeaway
This initiative reflects CBSE’s continued commitment to embedding Skill Education at the core of its academic framework. The Board is taking concrete steps to bridge the gap between educational policy and classroom practice.
As schools increasingly focus on preparing students for real-world challenges, programmes like these play a crucial role in shaping a more practical, future-ready learning environment for middle school students.
