The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the notification for the submission of examination forms by private candidates appearing for the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class 12) 2026-27. Eligible candidates can submit their forms through the link available on the official CBSE website.
The Class 12 private candidate examinations will be conducted in February, March, and April 2027, along with the Board’s main examinations. You are advised to check the eligibility conditions and application instructions carefully before submitting their forms.

Important Dates for CBSE Private Candidate Form

Note: CBSE has stated that applications will not be accepted after the final deadline. You are therefore advised to complete the application process within the prescribed timeline.
Fee for Class 12 Private Candidate Board Exam
If you are a private candidate from India, Nepal, or abroad the following is the fee structure that you need to follow:

Note: The Board will not issue a hard copy of the Migration Certificate as a compulsory practice. You can apply online after the result declaration to obtain the same. However, a soft copy of the Migration Certificate will be made available immediately after the result declaration for Class 12 students.
CBSE Class 12 Private Candidate Form 2026-27: Who Can Apply?
If you were declared ‘Essential Repeat’ in the Class 12 Board examination 2026 or declared ‘Fail/Essential Repeat’ in Class 12 Board examinations held in previous years, from 2021 to 2026 you are eligible to apply for 2027 Board examinations.
If you were unable to appear in the Class 12 Board examination 2026 due to medical reasons, subject to CBSE conditions, you can also apply. You can also apply if you were placed in ‘Compartment’ in one subject in the 2026 Board or Supplementary Examination.
If you passed Class 12 in 2026 and wish to improve your performance in permitted subjects, you can also apply under the ‘Improvement of Performance’ category.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- The application form and examination fee will be accepted only through online mode within the prescribed schedule.
- Offline applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
- Applications submitted after the last date will not be accepted.
- Your application will not be considered complete unless the applicable fee is paid by the deadline.
- You can pay the fee only through Net Banking, Debit Card or Credit Card. DD, Postal Order, Money Order, and cheque will not be accepted.
- If you are a CwSN candidate, you can avail yourself of the applicable exemptions and concessions under the RPwD Act, 2016.
- To claim CwSN facilities, you must upload the required Medical Certificate. Candidates who received these facilities in previous Board examinations can continue to avail them after uploading the required documents.
- If you appeared for the CBSE Board Examination 2026, your details will be auto-generated in the online application system.
- If you appeared in 2025 or earlier, you must enter details such as your Roll Number and Year of Passing correctly.
- Any incorrect information, false statement, or false document may lead to rejection of the application, forfeiture of the fee, and action under applicable rules.
- Any errors made by a cyber café or any other person will not be accepted as an excuse for incorrect form.
- If you complete the application but do not pay the fee by the last date, your application will be rejected without further notice.
- You do not need to send a hard copy of your application form to CBSE. You can download a copy of the form and verify the information provided.
- You can make corrections in the application, including subject and examination centre details, up to the last date of submission.
Information for CBSE Private Candidates Board Examination 2027
Application Form
- You can submit only one application form, so you should select your category and other details carefully.
- A working email ID is required for OTP verification.
Subjects
- You will be examined only in the subjects and syllabus prescribed for 2026-27, and you should check the eligibility, pass criteria, curriculum, and scheme of studies before applying.
- You can select only the subjects auto-generated in the online system and should enter the correct subject code for language subjects.
Roll Number and Exam Centre
- A fresh roll number will be issued for the 2027 candidates.
- If you appeared in the previous years’ examination you can use your previous year’s roll number.
- The examination centre allotted will be based on your city choice and will be final. You must also provide your correct residential address for delivery of applicable educational documents.
Note: CBSE has clarified that requests for a change of examination centre will not be considered.
Admit Cards
- You can download your admit cards from the CBSE website.
- Candidates appearing from Delhi will receive their admit cards and educational documents as per the procedure prescribed by CBSE.
Marksheet
- You do not need to surrender your previous marksheet or certificate. After the 2027 results are declared, eligible candidates will receive their marksheet and certificate.
- Improvement candidates will receive a fresh marksheet-cum-certificate showing the marks obtained in the improvement examination.
- If you pass the Second Chance Compartment Examination will receive a consolidated marksheet and certificate.
- CBSE’s marksheet shows the marks obtained in each subject and does not mention an aggregate percentage. If you pass all six subjects, your percentage will be calculated according to the admission norms of the respective college or institution.
- For candidates appearing outside Delhi, the original marksheet and certificate will be sent by the concerned Regional Office to the residential address provided in the application form through Speed Post.

- Candidates should carefully check the subjects displayed in the online application before making their selection.
- If your selected subjects involve practical examinations, internal assessment, or project work, the applicable rules regarding previously awarded marks will be followed according to the candidate’s category.
