CBSE LOC 2026-27 Submission: Classes 10 and 12 Board Exam 2027

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued instructions for submitting the List of Candidates (LOC) for Classes 10 and 12 Main Board Examinations 2027. In its communication, CBSE has directed affiliated schools to verify and submit accurate student details, subjects, and subject codes.

For 2026-27, the Class 10 LOC is for the mandatory First Board Examination under the Two Board Examination Policy. The LOC for the Second Board Examination will be submitted separately after the First Board Examination.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Details Schools Must Submit

Schools should keep the following details ready before filling the LOC:

• Candidate's name, father's name, mother's name, and guardian's name, wherever applicable
• Date of Birth
• Correct subject names, codes, and combinations as per the CBSE Scheme of Studies
• Category, including Full Subjects (FS), Improvement (I) or Compartment
• APAAR ID (optional)

The details should match the school's records, particularly the Admission and Withdrawal Register.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Class 10 First Board Examination

The First Board Examination for Class 10 will be conducted during February-March 2027 and is mandatory for all Class 10 candidates.

Schools must submit the LOC for all Class 10 candidates for this examination. Schools must also inform students and parents that the same subjects submitted in the LOC can be opted for in the Second Board Examination.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Registration and Eligibility

Schools must complete the registration process before submitting the LOC online using their Affiliation Number as the User ID. Newly affiliated schools that have not received their password should contact the concerned CBSE Regional Office and keep the password confidential.

Schools must sponsor only their regular, bonafide, and eligible students. Students must fulfil the applicable attendance and eligibility requirements. Class 12 students must have passed Class 10 from a recognised School Education Board on or before the 2025 academic year.

For detailed eligibility provisions, schools should refer to the CBSE Examination Bye-Laws and other relevant provisions mentioned in the circular.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: OASIS and HPE Portal

Before submitting the LOC:

• Newly affiliated schools must enter their information on OASIS, submit the required data on HPE, and then submit the LOC.
• Existing schools must update their OASIS and HPE data before LOC submission.
• The declared section and student strength cannot be changed after LOC submission.
• A confirmation number will be generated after successful HPE submission and should be retained for future reference.
• Schools must delete students who have left the school.
• Direct Admission and Re-Admission cases require the necessary approval from the concerned CBSE Regional Office as per the applicable rules.

Schools must also enter teachers' details accurately in OASIS, including the classes they teach. Full teacher names must be entered without abbreviations or salutations.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Subject Codes and Combinations

Schools must carefully verify subject combinations and codes before submitting the LOC. The following are the subject codes for Classes 10 and 12:

Subject combinations must follow the CBSE Scheme of Studies. For the detailed valid and invalid combinations, refer to Annexure H for Class 10 and Annexure K for Class 12.

Note: CBSE has also stated that requests for subject changes after LOC submission will not be accepted.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: CWSN and Photograph Requirements

Schools must correctly identify CWSN candidates in the LOC so that applicable exemptions and concessions can be provided. The CWSN portal will be available along with the LOC, but its submission deadline will be before the LOC deadline. Candidates cannot be added under the CWSN category after its deadline.

Schools that have not uploaded student photographs during Class 9 or 11 registration must upload them before finalising the LOC. Newly affiliated schools must also upload photographs of their bonafide students.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Important Submission Rules

The LOC must be submitted online only. Downloadable excel files cannot be used for LOC data submission.

Schools must submit all student details in one lot for each fee slab; partial submission within a fee slab is not allowed.

The final LOC will be uploaded using the e-signature linked with the principal's Aadhaar.

CBSE has advised schools to complete the process before the deadline and has stated that no extension will be provided for the last date.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Correction and Data Verification Slip

Schools can correct wrongly submitted data within the prescribed LOC submission period. Certain corrections, such as correcting a candidate's name or replacing a subject, do not require an additional fee. Additional examination, Internal Assessment, or practical fees may apply in cases involving the addition or replacement of a subject at the sixth position.

After the LOC submission deadline, CBSE will generate a Data Verification Slip for each candidate. Errors in the candidate's name, parents' or guardian's name, Date of Birth or subject offered can be corrected from 2 November to 4 November, 2026.

After this period, no further corrections will be allowed.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Final Checks for Schools

Before submitting the LOC, schools should verify:

• Student and parent/guardian names against school records
• Date of Birth
• Subject names, codes, and combinations
• Student eligibility and attendance
• Student photographs
• CWSN details (wherever applicable)
• OASIS and HPE information
• Details of students who have transferred or left the school

Principals have also been directed to obtain a daily status report from the concerned teacher or official for seven days before the last date regarding LOC submission and fee payment.

CBSE LOC 2026-27: Other Important Instructions

Schools must follow the applicable age requirements prescribed by the State/UT Government. Parent(s)' annual income may be collected for scholarship-related purposes, but schools should not demand ITRs or other income proof.

Schools offering academic subjects involving laboratory work must have the required approval, where applicable. Skill subjects can be introduced without formal permission as stated in the CBSE circular.
