The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially announced the Class 10 Supplementary Examination Results for the academic session 2024–2025 on Tuesday, 5 August 2025.
These exams were conducted between 15 July and 22 July, 2025, across India and in 26 countries abroad, offering students a crucial opportunity to improve their academic records or clear one or two failed subjects.
Who Appeared for the CBSE Class 10 Supplementary Exams?
Three categories of students were eligible for the Class 10 Supplementary Exams:
- Compartment Students: Those who failed to secure qualifying marks in one or two subjects out of the five mandatory subjects.
- Six-Subject Rule Students: Candidates who had passed via replacement of a failed main subject with an additional subject.
- Improvement Candidates: Students who had already passed but wanted to improve their performance in one or two subjects.

Nearly half of the students who appeared for the supplementary exams successfully cleared them.
Gender-Wise Performance

Girls outperformed boys by 3.63%, continuing the trend of higher female academic achievement.
Foreign Schools Performance

Students from CBSE-affiliated schools abroad performed better than the national average with a pass percentage of 54.18%.
CWSN (Children With Special Needs) Candidates

More than half of the CWSN candidates cleared the exams.
CBSE Class 10 Result Access and Certificate Distribution
- Regular students will receive their mark sheets and passing certificates through their schools.
- Private candidates will receive their documents at their respective exam centres or registered addresses.
- All candidates can also access their documents on DigiLocker once the results are declared.
CBSE Class 10 Re-evaluation and Verification
The Board has also announced that the verification of marks will begin on 8 August 2025. A detailed circular has already been issued with timelines and procedures for verification and re-evaluation requests.
Final Thoughts
The supplementary exams serve as a valuable second chance for students who either struggled with their initial exams or aimed to improve their marks. With nearly 67,000 students clearing the exam, the opportunity proved beneficial for many.
