CBSE Issues Critical Guidelines for Board Exams 2026 Question Paper Distribution

As the CBSE Main Board Examinations approach on 17 February, 2026, a reminder has been issued to all Principals and Centre Superintendents. This guidance is intended to help school leaders ensure that every student receives the correct question paper, thereby protecting their academic efforts and ensuring a smooth examination process.

Guidance for CBSE 2026 Accurate Question Paper Distribution

To assist students in performing their best, the Board emphasises the importance of providing only the question papers for subjects specifically listed on a student's Admit Card. This care is particularly helpful for subjects with multiple versions or codes:

• Mathematics: Schools are asked to ensure that students receive the correct level—either Mathematics Standard or Mathematics Basic—as indicated on their documentation.
• Language Subjects: For subjects such as English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu, please verify the specific subject codes to ensure they align with the correct syllabus.

Adherence to these distribution protocols is essential, as the Board must follow specific procedures if a student appears for a subject not listed on their Admit Card:

• Attendance Status: If a student sits for an incorrect exam, they will be marked ‘Absent’ for the subject they were originally supposed to appear in.
• Cancellations: Any examination taken against the Board's specific directions will be cancelled.
• Result Preparation: Final results will be prepared and declared based on these necessary adjustments.
• Administrative Action: The CBSE will also take appropriate action against schools that do not follow these distribution instructions.
