Hey NEET (UG) 2025 aspirants, there’s a new update in the most competitive Indian medical entrance exam.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a public notice dated 25 January, 2025 regarding the question paper pattern and examination duration for the NEET (UG) 2025. Let’s dive into the latest developments and what they mean for you!
- Section B will not be included in the exam.
- Since the COVID phase, the NEET (UG) exam included 200 questions, out of which 180 had to be attempted. However, now it will only consist of 180 compulsory questions. Thus, the provision for optional questions will no longer be available.
- The additional time granted for the exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic has now been revoked. Therefore, the total duration of the NEET (UG) 2025 exam will be 180 minutes (3 hours).
Hence, it can be seen that the question paper pattern and examination duration has reverted to the pre-COVID format.
Strategies to Tackle Paper Pattern and Time Changes
- Study thoroughly: Focus on covering the entire syllabus thoroughly rather than relying on selective preparation. Prioritise weaker areas alongside your strengths to ensure you can confidently attempt all mandatory questions.
- Time management skills: Keep solving mock tests and past papers within the revised time limit.
- Strengthen speed and accuracy: Work on improving both speed and precision by practicing multiple-choice questions daily.
- Revision: Develop concise notes and flashcards for last-minute revision.
- Stay calm and composed: Changes in exam patterns and time limits can be overwhelming, but maintaining a positive mindset is the key to success.
For ensuring thorough preparation and adhering to the time restrictions, practise using our Previous 12 Years’ NEET (UG) Question Papers with Solutions, featuring 17 OMR sheets for realistic practice and a self-assessment scorecard for tracking your progress.
