The SCERT has issued a district-level notification announcing the schedule for the Periodic Assessment Test-3 (PAT-3) for the academic year 2025–26. The Periodic Assessment Test–2 (PAT-3) will be conducted during the period 11, 15, and 22 April, 2026 for students studying in Classes 2 to 8 across schools in Maharashtra.
The directive has been circulated to divisional education authorities, district education offices, and training institutes to ensure proper implementation of the test across the state.
Objective of the Maharashtra PAT-3 Assessment 2026
The PAT-3 examination is part of the state’s continuous evaluation framework under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan initiative. The primary goal of the test is to measure students’ learning outcomes and strengthen classroom teaching practices.
Through this periodic assessment test in Maharashtra, education authorities aim to:
- Evaluate whether students have achieved grade-appropriate learning outcomes.
- Identify learning gaps in foundational subjects.
- Provide feedback that helps improve teaching strategies in schools.

Coverage of the Maharashtra PAT-3 Assessment 2026
According to the notification, the Maharashtra PAT 3 assessment will cover students from Classes 2 to 8 in key academic subjects. The test forms part of a series of periodic assessments conducted during the academic year to monitor student progress.
