JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Dates and Centres
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 from 02 to 08 April, 2026. This examination, with around 11.23 lakh candidates appearing will take place across 566 exam centres in 304 cities in India, along with 14 cities outside India.
The exam will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
Security Measures for JEE Main 2026 Session 2
Being a high-stake examination, NTA has introduced several advanced security protocols to ensure fairness and transparency.
Some of the key upgrades include:
Development of Online Portal
The NIC has developed an online portal with several new features to enhance accuracy and security. This includes:
- AI-based face comparison.
- OTP-based Aadhaar e-KYC authentication.
- Live photo matching with Aadhaar or DigiLocker photo.
- Verification of uploaded photos against the live photo.
- Automatic fetching of PwD/PwBD details from the UDID portal.
- Option of city choices to candidates that are restricted to states of their present and premanent address.
Additionally, the exam centres will be equipped with Central Government agencies, State and District representatives, functionaries, flying squad members, exam conducting agency, and other bodies that are in collaboration with the NTA.
Frisking of Candidates
You are required to undergo mandatory manual frisking process at the designated exam Centre. This will be done by the appointed security personnel. There will be separate frisking enclousers for female and male candidates in order to ensure a smooth, secure, and dignifies conduct of examination.
Seat and Console Allocation
After frisking, you will have to report to the registration desk at your designated lab which is managed by the exam delivery agency. At the desk, Aadhaar authentication will be conducted followed by clicking your photograph. After the registration is completed, you will be assigned a specific seat and console.
Other Security Measures by the NTA
Installation of CCTV cameras and jammers at the exam centres. Monitoring of exam through AI-based video analytics from a centralised control room. These steps aim to make the exam completely secure and incident-free.
Admit Cards and Schedule Adjustments
Admit cards were released in two phases:
- For candidates appearing on 02 April and 04 April: Admit cards were released on 29 March, 2026.
- For remaining candidates: Admit cards were released on 1 April, 2026
Candidates must download their admit cards from the official NTA website using their login credentials.
Changes in Examination Centres and Dates
NTA has also made special adjustments to exam dates and centres based on the following circumstances:
Middle East candidates were allowed centre changes due to ongoing conflict.
Students observing Easter on 05 April, 2026 were given rescheduled dates for the examination.
To avoid clashes with CBSE Class 12 Board exams, NTA coordinated with CBSE and used candidate data to reschedule exam dates carefully. This was done by adding an input in CBSE Session 1 and 2 application forms.

Subject Specific Instructions for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Candidates
Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
Section A (Maximum 80 Marks)
- This section contains 20 questions for each subject.
- Each question has 4 options and only one option is the most appropriate.
- You are advised to do the calculation with the given constants (if any) in the questions.
- The answers to each questions will be evaluated based on the following marking scheme:

- You are advised to do neat and clean drawings.
- You must not write Roll Number, Name, Centre address, Place of examination, or make any special sign in any part of the Test Booklet.
- You must submit the Drawing Sheet to the Invigilator before leaving the Examination Hall.
Planning Based Objective Type Questions (Maximum Marks 100)
- This section contains 25 questions.
- Each question has 4 options and only one option is the most appropriate.

- There may be some questions that are given to assess the thinking skills in English, so those will be in English only in every language set.
