JEE Main 2026 NTA Score Calculation Explained
The NTA Score is a normalized score, not a percentage. It is calculated based on the relative performance of candidates in a specific shift.
Formula Used:
NTA Score = (100 × Number of candidates with raw score ≤ candidate’s score) ÷ Total candidates in the shift
This ensures fairness across multiple shifts by standardising scores.
JEE Main 2026 Ranking Criteria
- Final ranks are prepared based on the best NTA score out of both sessions (January and April)
- This policy ensures that candidates get the maximum advantage of multiple attempts
Conclusion
The release of the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Paper 2 result marks a significant milestone for you if you are an architecture and planning aspirant. With a transparent normalization process, wide accessibility, and strong participation, the exam continues to uphold its credibility and national importance.
