The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a crucial announcement, providing students, schools, and teachers with the Tentative Datesheets for the Board Examinations 2026 for Classes 10 and 12.
CBSE releases 2026 Board Exams tentative dates
In 2026, around 45 lakh students are expected to appear for CBSE exams across 204 subjects, spanning Classes 10 and 12. These candidates are not just from India, students from 26 countries abroad will also be taking part.
But exams aren’t just about sitting in the classroom and writing answers. Alongside the main tests, CBSE conducts practicals, evaluation processes, and post-result activities to ensure that results are declared on time.
To help everyone plan better, CBSE has decided to release tentative date sheets based on registration data from Class 9 and 11 in 2025. These preliminary schedules will cover:
- Main Examinations for Classes 10 and 12
- Examinations for Sports Students - Class 12
- Second Board Examinations - Class 10

Why is the Release of Tentative CBSE Board Exam Datesheet Important?
