Who Needs to Appear for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Practical Exam 2026?
According to the official CBSE circular, practical examinations will be conducted for the following categories of Class 12 students:
Students with Repeat Practical (RP)
If you have been placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat Practical (RP) in any subject:
- You only need to appear for the practical examination.
- Your previous theory marks will be carried forward, so you do not need to take the theory exam again.
Students with Repeat Theory and Practical Both (RB)
If you have been placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat Theory and Practical Both (RB), you must appear for both the practical and theory examinations during the CBSE Supplementary Examination 2026.
CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Practical Exam 2026 Dates
The CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Practical Examinations 2026 will be conducted from 29 July, 2026 to 4 August, 2026.

CBSE Supplementary Practical Exam 2026 Venue
The venue for the practical examination depends on your category.
1. For Regular Candidates
Your practical examination will be conducted in your own school.
2. For Private Candidates
Your practical examination will be conducted at the theory examination centre allotted to you.
If practical facilities for a particular subject are unavailable at the allotted centre, the concerned CBSE Regional Office will arrange the examination at a nearby school or examination centre.
Important Instructions for CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Practical Exam 2026
You must contact your school or examination centre by 27 July, 2026 with:
- A copy of your result/marksheet
- Your admit card
Practical Marks Will Be Uploaded on the Same Day
CBSE has instructed schools and examination centres conducting the practical examinations to:
- Upload the practical marks on the same day of the examination.
- Treat the uploaded marks as final, as no requests for changes will be accepted after submission.
What Schools Have Been Directed to Do
The instructions issued by CBSE for schools and examination centres are as follows:
- Prepare a subject-wise list of all students whose practical examinations are to be conducted.
- Contact the Regional Office well in advance for the appointment of external examiners, wherever required.
- Do not appoint external examiners on own under any circumstances.
- Fix the date and time of the practical examinations while considering the availability of external examiners, the convenience of students, and the supplementary examination datesheet.
- Inform students well in advance about the date and time of their practical examinations.
- Inform the Regional Office about the plan for conducting the practical examinations.
What Regional Offices Have Been Directed to Do
The instructions issued by CBSE for Regional Offices are as follows:
- Prepare a centre-wise and subject-wise list of all students whose practical examinations are to be conducted.
- Appoint external examiners well in advance, wherever required.
- Ensure the timely completion of practical examinations, the uploading of practical marks on the portal, and the receipt of practical answer books in the Regional Office.
