The CBSE has started the online application process for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026 for eligible private candidates. Regular students from the 2025 batch who were placed in the compartment category can also apply under the Private category for their third chance at the compartment examination.
You can submit your examination form through the official CBSE portal from 30 June, 2026 and must complete both the application and fee payment within the prescribed schedule.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026: Who Can Apply?
You can apply for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026 if you fall under any of the following categories:
- If you appeared as a private candidate in the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2026 with five subjects and were declared in the Compartment category. Then You can apply for the one subject in which you have been placed in compartment.
- If you appeared as a private candidate with six subjects in 2026 and were placed in compartment in two subjects, you can apply for any one of those two subjects.
- If you appeared as a private candidate with six subjects in 2026, passed the examination, but could not clear one subject. Then you are eligible to apply under the Improvement of Performance category for that failed subject, provided the examination for that subject is being conducted.
- If you appeared in the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2025, were declared in the Compartment category, remained in compartment during the first chance in the 2025 compartment examination, and again in the second chance conducted with the 2026 Board examination. You can apply for your third and final compartment chance in one subject.
Note: Regular students of the 2025 batch who are appearing for their third compartment chance can apply only as private candidates.

CBSE has clarified that no applications will be accepted after the last date, either online or offline.
CBSE Supplementary Exam 2026 Fee
The examination fee is as follows:

| Schools outside India | ₹2,200 |
Note: Visually impaired candidates are exempted from paying the examination fee.
Fee payment can only be made through digital modes, including:
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- Net Banking
- UPI (within India)
Your application will be considered valid only after the fee is successfully credited to the Board's account.
How You Can Apply for the CBSE Supplementary Exam 2026
To submit your application, you need to:
- Visit the official CBSE website.
- Enter your Roll Number, School Number, and Centre Number exactly as mentioned on your previous admit card.
- Select the subject for which you are applying.
- Fill in your address and state/city details.
- Carefully choose your examination city.
- Submit the application and note your Application ID.
- Upload a recent colour photograph (maximum 50 KB, JPG) and your signature (maximum 4 KB, JPG).
- Complete the online fee payment.
Admit Card for CBSE Supplementary Exam 2026
CBSE will announce the dates for downloading admit cards separately. If you notice any discrepancy in your admit card, you should immediately contact the concerned CBSE Regional Office.
Consolidated Mark Sheet
A consolidated mark sheet will be issued only if:
- Your Class 12 Board Examination 2026 result was declared as Compartment, and you are declared Pass after the Supplementary Examination 2026.
CBSE Supplementary Exam 2026 Will Follow 2025–26 Syllabus
The CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026 will be conducted according to the syllabus prescribed for the 2025–26 academic session. Candidates are required to prepare based on the same syllabus used for the 2026 Board Examination.
