Continuous Professional Development (CPD) helps teachers and school heads strengthen their skills, explore contemporary pedagogies, and respond to emerging educational priorities. Keeping this focus in mind, the National Initiative for School Heads' and Teachers' Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) will offer its second cycle of online courses during the academic year 2026–27.
The Ministry of Education, Government of India, through NISHTHA, continues to provide professional development opportunities for teachers and school heads. The second cycle will cover courses under NISHTHA Category II (Proficiency Courses) and NISHTHA Category III (Advanced Courses).

NISHTHA Courses for 2026–27: What’s Included?
The second cycle will run from October 2026 to March 2027 and will include courses focusing on foundational learning, digital safety, environmental awareness, and action research.
NISHTHA Category II: Proficiency Courses
The following courses are available under Category II:
- NISHTHA FLN
- NISHTHA ECCE
These courses are intended for all school heads and teachers of the foundational and preparatory stages, up to Class 5.
NISHTHA Category III: Advanced Courses
Teachers and school heads can access the following advanced courses under Category III:
- Cyber Hygiene Practices: Personal Digital Devices
- Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste (E-waste)
- Action Research
- Catch the Rain (English)
- Catch the Rain (Hindi)
The target group for these courses is all school heads and teachers.
Timeline for NISHTHA Category II And III Courses
- Course starting date: 1 October, 2026
- Enrolment closing date: 10 March, 2027
- Course closing date: 15 March, 2027
