Soon after the NEET UG results are released, the next step will be to attend the counselling process. Each state will release the NEET UG provisional merit list, enlisting the names of the candidate who has qualified for the examination. The counselling process will be conducted simultaneously across different states of India.
In the state of Kerala, it will commence on the 4th week of June. The process will be conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) in Kerala for both MBBS and BDS admissions. Unlike other states, the committee carries out the process in three rounds followed by a mop-up round for filling the vacant seats.
All the eligible candidates must register themselves for the Kerala MBBS/ BDS admission by logging in using their credentials including username and password in the KEAM candidate login 2019. After logging in the candidates must fill in and lock their choices of college for every round of counselling. On the basis of choices, MBBS state merit rank, availability of seats and reservation policy as set by the government of Kerala, further admission will be granted to around 2077 BDS and 3182 MBBS both under government and private colleges in Kerala.
The counselling in Kerala for MBBS and BDS examinations will be conducted through online mode. The step-wise process for MBBS/BDS Kerala Counseling is as follows:
All the aspirants who have qualified the NEET examination must register and login into the portal for NEET counselling by entering their KEAM application number and password which was provided when filling the MBBS application form.
Herein, students will be required to create a password. In order to register themselves, they must click on the button showing 'Option Registration' at the login page.
Here in this step, the candidates will be rendered a list of medical and dental colleges. A two-letter code along with the number of seats will also be provided beside the name to render the students a better understanding of how many seats are available. For adding the college/institution to the list, students must click on the preference box after which the serial number will be displayed further. Students can furthermore cancel the selected option by clicking on 0. Once you are sure of which colleges you want to seek admission in, ensure to click on Save.
After filling of choices, the authority will begin with seat allotment. This will be based on state merit rank, preference of college as well as course, availability of seats and reservation.
After the allotment process is done, the CEE Kerala will release the result of Kerala MBBS 2019. The seat listing will be released separately for each round in the form of a PDF file. The result for the first round of counselling will be released during the 1st week of July 2019, while that of the second round will be released in the first week of August 2019.
Based on the allocation, all the candidates who are satisfied by the allotments must report to the college on the said date along with their original and photocopy of documents. For aspirants who fail to report to the designated college, the admission of such students will stand cancelled.
