As per the notification, more than 18,000 postgraduate medical seats were still vacant nationwide after two NEET PG counselling rounds. In response to this, NBEMS revised the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2025.
The revision applies uniformly as per category-wise eligibility norms and is intended to facilitate further counselling rounds.
Revised NEET PG 2025 Qualifying Percentile
Under the updated criteria, the NEET PG 2025 counselling qualifying percentile has been revised as follows:
- General Category:
Reduced from 50th percentile to 7th percentile
- SC/ST/OBC Categories:
Reduced from 40th percentile to 0 percentile
These revised cut-offs will be applicable for subsequent counselling processes.

The decision to reduce the cut-off was taken after the completion of two counselling rounds. The revised eligibility criteria will apply to upcoming counselling rounds, including mop-up and stray vacancy rounds, as notified by the authorities.
