The Government of Maharashtra has issued an notice instructing schools about the reopening of primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools across the state. Earlier, it was informed the the primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools for the academic year 2026-27 will begin from 15 June, 2026 (Monday).
Reopening of Schools in Vidharbha Region
Considering the current temperature in the Vidarbha region, it is decided that this rising temperature is not suitable for the health of students. Therefore, only the primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools of the State Board in the Vidarbha region will commence from 22 June, 2026 (Monday).
These schools are directed to be held in the morning session from 22 June, 2026 to 30 June, 2026.
Schools should resume their regular timings from 01 July, 2026 (Wednesday) onwards.
Reopening of Schools in Other Regions of Maharashtra
However, in the rest of the state, schools will resume on regular schedule from 15 June, 2026 (Monday). The schools in the regions other than Vidharbha will function as per their normal timings.
