Change in Std. 5 PUP and Std. 8 PSS Maharashtra Scholarship 2026 Exam Date

Before you go ahead with your February exam planning, here’s something you must know. The Pre-Upper Primary Scholarship Exam (PUP-Std. 5) and the Pre-Secondary Scholarship Exam (PSS-Std. 8) are no longer scheduled for 8 February, 2026. 

The date has been officially revised, and all students should take note immediately.

Official Std. 5 and 8 Scholarship Exam Date Change Notice 

The Maharashtra State Examination Council shared this update through its notification dated 24 November, 2025.

Why was the Date Changed for PUP and PSS Maharashtra Scholarship Exams 2026?

Originally, Std. 5 and 8 Maharashtra scholarship exams 2026 were scheduled for 08 February in all districts across the state.

But there was a major clash, the Central Education Board has also scheduled the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on the same day.

Since a large number of primary and secondary teachers in Maharashtra are appearing for the CTET exam, the State Examination Council received several requests to avoid the overlap. To ensure teachers do not have to choose between the two exams, the council has decided to reschedule the Maharashtra scholarship examinations 2026.

Revised Std. 5 and Std. 8 Scholarship Exam Dates 2026

The new exam date you need to remember:

Revised Date for PUP Scholarship Exam (Std. 5) and PSS Scholarship Exam (Std. 8): 22 February, 2026

The exams will be held on the same day across all districts of Maharashtra.

All students, parents, teachers, school authorities, and exam centers are requested to note the revised date without fail.
