The Maharashtra Government has released a comprehensive Government Resolution (GR) detailing the FYJC Class 11 admission process for the academic year 2026–27. This policy brings the entire state under a centralised, merit-based, fully online admission system, replacing earlier fragmented systems.
The journey of online Class 11 admissions in Maharashtra started in 2009–10, initially implemented in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMRDA), covering Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad.
- Over time, improvements were made through multiple Government Resolutions.
- In 2014–15, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad were added.
- By 2017–18, the system expanded to Nagpur, Amravati, Nashik, and Aurangabad.
- In 2025–26, the FYJC centralised online admission system was implemented across the entire state.
Now, from 2026–27, a more uniform, structured, and strictly regulated system has been finalised.
