Inclusive education begins with understanding. To help schools build greater sensitivity and empathy towards Children with Special Needs (CwSN), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked its affiliated schools to facilitate the screening of a 30-minute sensitisation and orientation module on Inclusive Education. This sensitisation module is part of the PRASHAST Screening Initiative being undertaken during the current academic year.
What Is the CBSE Inclusive Education Module?
The 30-minute video module has been developed following directions from the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The module aims to help school staff:
- Better understand the needs and challenges of Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
- Develop greater sensitivity and empathy.
- Build an inclusive attitude.
- Promote appropriate, respectful, and inclusive practices within the school environment.
When Will the Module Be Screened?
CBSE has provided the following details for schools:
- Date: 7 October, 2026
- Duration: 30 minutes
- Access: The video will be available through the Video Tutorial on the PRASHAST Portal using the Headmaster Login.

Who Can Participate?
This module is not limited to only teachers. CBSE has asked schools to ensure participation from all teaching and non-teaching staff, including:
- Aayahs
- Drivers
- Clerical staff
- Receptionists
- Deans

What Do CBSE Schools Need to Do?
CBSE-affiliated schools have been requested to:
- Facilitate the screening of the module on 7 October, 2026.
