If you are planning to appear for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026, here's an important update. The CBSE has started the online submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for regular students appearing in the Class 12 Supplementary Examinations 2026.
The registration process has begun from 30 June, 2026, and eligible students must complete the process through their respective schools.

CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 Important LOC Dates

CBSE has stated that no applications will be accepted after the deadline, either online or offline, with or without a late fee.
Who Can Apply for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026?
You are eligible to apply for the Supplementary Examination if you belong to any of the following categories.
1. Compartment Candidates (First Chance)
You are eligible to apply if:
- You appeared for the CBSE Class 12 Main Examination 2026 for the first time.
- Your result has been declared Compartment.
Special case for students with six subjects:
If you appeared in six subjects and were placed in the Compartment category in two subjects, you can choose to appear in any one of those two subjects.
Note: A regular student can appear in the Supplementary Examination for only one compartment subject.
2. Students Seeking Improvement of Performance
CBSE has allowed improvement in the following cases:
- Students Who Passed After Replacement of Subject(s)
If you passed the Main Examination 2026 after the replacement of subject(s), you may apply for improvement as per CBSE rules.
- Students Who Passed the Main Examination 2026
If you passed the Class 12 Board Examination and wish to improve your marks, you can appear for only one subject, provided it is included in the list of permissible subjects notified by CBSE.
3. Compartment Candidates (Third Chance)
Students who:
- First appeared in the Class 12 Board Examination 2025
- Were declared Compartment
Could not clear the examination in the 2025 Supplementary Examination (First Chance) and the 2026 Examination (Second Chance), are eligible for their third and final chance, but only as Private Candidates.
CBSE has clarified that a student gets a maximum of three chances to clear a compartment subject.
Important Instructions for Regular Students
If your Class 12 result has been declared Compartment, you should immediately contact the school from which you appeared in the CBSE Main Examination 2026. Only your school can submit your name through the online LOC system.
Similarly, if you have passed but wish to improve your performance in one subject, you should also inform your school before the deadline.
The Supplementary Examination will be conducted according to the CBSE Board Examination 2025–26 syllabus.
Important Responsibilities of Schools
CBSE has directed schools to:
- Contact students placed in the Compartment category.
- Inform eligible students about the Class 12 Supplementary Examination and Improvement of Performance option.
- Submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for all eligible compartment students, even if they cannot be contacted.
Failure to include a student's name in the LOC within time will make them ineligible to appear for the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examination 2026.
CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Exam 2026 Fee

Fee Payment Instructions
- Fees can be paid only through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI (India).
- Schools outside India can pay through Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
- The fee must reach the Board's account by 8 July, 2026.
If the fee is not received by CBSE, the candidature will be rejected, and the student will not be allowed to appear for the examination.
No challan payment facility is available for this examination.
Note: Visually impaired students of Class 12 are exempted from paying the examination fee.
How Schools Will Submit the List of Candidates (LOC)
Schools will complete the online submission by:
- Generating the list of eligible compartment students.
- Selecting the student's Roll Number and subject.
- Finalising the application and noting the generated Application ID.
- Paying the examination fee online.
- Printing and preserving the final authenticated LOC along with the fee payment proof.
CBSE has clarified that once the fee is paid and the final LOC is generated, no corrections can be made either online or offline.
CBSE 2026 Class 12 Consolidated Marksheet
CBSE will issue a consolidated marksheet only to students whose Main Examination 2026 result was declared Compartment, and who are declared Pass after the Supplementary Examination 2026.
CBSE 2026 Class 12 Admit Card
CBSE will announce the dates for downloading Supplementary Examination Admit Cards separately. If you notice any discrepancy in your admit card, your school should immediately contact the concerned CBSE Regional Office.

Skill & Vocational Subjects
Students can also appear in various skill-based and vocational subjects including Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Financial Market Management, Banking, Tourism, Agriculture, Marketing, Health Care, Retail, Fashion Studies, Yoga, Beauty & Wellness, Office Procedures & Practices, Food Production, Taxation, Cost Accounting, Electronics & Hardware, Design Thinking & Innovation, and several others notified by CBSE.
