The State Common Entrance Test Cell has officially released the Admission Notice for Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) B.E./B.Tech. (3 years) program for the Academic Year 2025–26.
Here is the detailed overview of important dates, eligibility criteria, registration process, admission fees, types of institutes, and other crucial instructions to help you navigate the admission process smoothly.
Types of Institutes accepting Lateral Entry Admissions
All Government, Government Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (including Minority Institutions) will be accepting Lateral Entry admissions for academic year 2025–26.
Eligibility for Admission to Direct Second Year B.E./B.Tech. Programs
- Must be a citizen of India
- Must have any one of the following educational qualifications:

Diploma Holders
- Passed 2 or 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology
- Must have minimum 45% marks for General category
- Must have minimum 40% marks for Reserved/EWS/PwD category
- Diploma must be from AICTE/State/Central Government approved institute

B.Sc. Degree Holders
- Must have passed B.Sc. from a UGC-recognised university
- Must have minimum 45% marks for General category
- Must have Minimum 40% for Reserved/EWS/PwD category
- Must have passed HSC or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject

D.Voc. Candidates
- Passed 3-year D.Voc. in the same or allied sector

Must meet any additional eligibility requirements declared by the authorities from time to time as defined under the act

Important Guidelines for DSE CAP Admission 2025–26

Fix Discrepancies on Time
If any mistakes are found in your application, you must fix them during document verification. If you don’t confirm your online application form at E-Scrutiny Center or Physical Scrutiny Center, it will be rejected and you won’t be included in the merit list.

Caste Validity and Certificates (Reserved Category Students)
1. SC/ST: Must submit Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate
2. Other Backward Classes (VJ/DT, NT, OBC, SBC, SEBC): Must submit both Caste Validity and Non-Creamy Layer certificate (valid till 31st March 2026)
Note: If you don’t provide valid certificates during verification, you’ll be treated as General Category
3. EWS Candidates: Must upload the EWS certificate as per government format (Proforma V) during document verification.

Fee Adjustment for Missing Certificates
If you applied under a reserved category but can’t produce the necessary certificate, you’ll need to pay ₹200 extra (online) and will be shifted to the General category.

Option Form Once Locked is considered Final
Once you submit the option form, you cannot edit or cancel it later. So choose your preferences wisely.

Download Your Allotment Letter
Once a seat is allotted, you should download your Provisional Seat Allotment Letter from your login.

Seat Acceptance Fee is fixed as ₹1,000/- (One-time)
This is a non-refundable processing fee to be paid online through your login during the first seat acceptance.

Final Admission will only take place after document verification
Your admission will be confirmed only after document verification at the allotted institute. The institute will give you a receipt for admission and fee payment.

Deadline for Final Certificate Submission (SC/ST/VJ/NT/OBC/SEBC/EWS)
Submit your original certificates at the admitted institute by 05 September, 2025 (5:00 PM) or your admission will be cancelled and considered under Open Category.

For Institutional Quota
- For seats remaining vacant after CAP you must be registered and verified via Scrutiny Center first.
- After registration you must apply separately to the institutes. The merit list for such seats will be prepared by the institute itself.
