Maharashtra CET Direct Admissions 2025-26

The State Common Entrance Test Cell has officially released the Admission Notice for Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) B.E./B.Tech. (3 years) program for the Academic Year 2025–26.

Here is the detailed overview of important dates, eligibility criteria, registration process, admission fees, types of institutes, and other crucial instructions to help you navigate the admission process smoothly.

Types of Institutes accepting Lateral Entry Admissions

All Government, Government Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (including Minority Institutions) will be accepting Lateral Entry admissions for academic year 2025–26.

Eligibility for Admission to Direct Second Year B.E./B.Tech. Programs

Must be a citizen of India
Must have any one of the following educational qualifications:

Diploma Holders

Passed 2 or 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology
Must have minimum 45% marks for General category
Must have minimum 40% marks for Reserved/EWS/PwD category
Diploma must be from AICTE/State/Central Government approved institute

B.Sc. Degree Holders

Must have passed B.Sc. from a UGC-recognised university
Must have minimum 45% marks for General category
Must have Minimum 40% for Reserved/EWS/PwD category
Must have passed HSC or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject

D.Voc. Candidates

Passed 3-year D.Voc. in the same or allied sector

Other Requirements

Must meet any additional eligibility requirements declared by the authorities from time to time as defined under the act

Online Registration process for Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) B.E./B.Tech. Admission

Process for E-Scrutiny Mode selected candidates: Such candidate shall fill online application form and scan original document and upload the required documents from any computer/smartphone connected to internet from anywhere. Such candidate need not have to visit to E- Scrutiny Center for verification and confirmation of the application form. His/her application & documents shall be verified and confirmed by the E Scrutiny Center through e-Scrutiny Mode. During e-Scrutiny of Application Form of such candidate: If no error is found: the status of verification & confirmation of the application form shall be available in candidates Login along with receipt cum Acknowledgement. If error is found: the details of errors shall be intimated to candidates by reverting back his/her Application for its rectification through candidates Login. Candidate shall edit the reverted Application form and re-submit the application for e-Scrutiny through his/her login. Process for Physical Scrutiny Mode selected Candidates Such candidate shall visit the Physical Scrutiny Center online selected by himself/herself, along with the required documents as per the allotted time slot for online filling, scanning & uploading of required documents, verification and confirmation of application form. After verification & Confirmation of application form, Physical Scrutiny Center shall issue the receipt cum Acknowledgement.	05-07-2025	20-07-2025 up to 05.00 PM
Note: Facility of Online Registration & Documents verification, confirmation of Application Form for Admission to Seats other than CAP Seats shall be continued till Cut- off Date for all type of admissions for the Academic Year 2025-26, up to 2.00 PM at online E- Verification by Scrutiny Center or Physical Verification at Scrutiny Center.
3	Display of the provisional merit list for Maharashtra State/All India candidates on website	23-07-2025
4	Submission of grievances if any, for all type of Candidates: Candidate shall raise the Grievance about correction required in the data displayed in provisional merit list through his/her Login The application of such candidates shall be reverted back to the candidate in his/her Login for rectification. Candidate shall upload the requisite documents to substantiate the claim for any correction/concession. The status of acceptance/rejection of Grievance raised by candidate shall be available in candidates Login along with latest receipt cum Acknowledgement. 9	Accepting to the offered seat by candidate through his/her login as per Allotment of CAP Round I. The candidate shall self-verify the seat allotment made to him/her in the CAP Round I by accepting declaration through his/her login and certifying that his/her claim related with qualifying marks, category, gender, reservation, specific reservation etc. made by candidate in the application form are correct and relevant documents uploaded to substantiate his/her claims are authentic and correct If candidate found the claim made by him is not correct and he/she wants to the correct the error, (error as per the clause (e) of sub rule (3) of rule 9 given in information brochure) The candidate shall report the grievance through his/her login by online mode only. Candidates who have been allotted the seat as per their first preference in Round I (auto freezed) shall pay the seat acceptance fee by online mode through their login and Such candidates shall not be eligible for participation in subsequent Rounds. Candidates who have allotted other than first preference and self freezed their allotment in Round I through their login must accept the seat and shall pay seat acceptance fees through online mode. Such candidates shall not be eligible for participation in subsequent rounds. Candidates who have accepted the seat as per 9 (c), 9 (d) above must report to allotted institute for confirmation of admission The Institute shall verify the required documents and upload the admission of the candidates in the online system through Institute Login immediately and shall issue a system generated receipt of confirmation of admission and fee paid receipt to the candidate. Important Guidelines for DSE CAP Admission 2025–26

Fix Discrepancies on Time

If any mistakes are found in your application, you must fix them during document verification. If you don’t confirm your online application form at E-Scrutiny Center or Physical Scrutiny Center, it will be rejected and you won’t be included in the merit list.

Caste Validity and Certificates (Reserved Category Students)

1. SC/ST: Must submit Caste/Tribe Validity Certificate

2. Other Backward Classes (VJ/DT, NT, OBC, SBC, SEBC): Must submit both Caste Validity and Non-Creamy Layer certificate (valid till 31st March 2026)

Note: If you don’t provide valid certificates during verification, you’ll be treated as General Category

3. EWS Candidates: Must upload the EWS certificate as per government format (Proforma V) during document verification.

Fee Adjustment for Missing Certificates

If you applied under a reserved category but can’t produce the necessary certificate, you’ll need to pay ₹200 extra (online) and will be shifted to the General category.

Option Form Once Locked is considered Final

Once you submit the option form, you cannot edit or cancel it later. So choose your preferences wisely.

Download Your Allotment Letter

Once a seat is allotted, you should download your Provisional Seat Allotment Letter from your login.

Seat Acceptance Fee is fixed as ₹1,000/- (One-time)

This is a non-refundable processing fee to be paid online through your login during the first seat acceptance.

Final Admission will only take place after document verification

Your admission will be confirmed only after document verification at the allotted institute. The institute will give you a receipt for admission and fee payment.

Deadline for Final Certificate Submission (SC/ST/VJ/NT/OBC/SEBC/EWS)

Submit your original certificates at the admitted institute by 05 September, 2025 (5:00 PM) or your admission will be cancelled and considered under Open Category.

For Institutional Quota

For seats remaining vacant after CAP you must be registered and verified via Scrutiny Center first.
After registration you must apply separately to the institutes. The merit list for such seats will be prepared by the institute itself.
